Dr. Shailendra “Shali” Kumar earned his M.S., M.Phil., and Ph.D. in Biochemistry at Aligarh Muslim University and the Central Drug Research Institute in India. Since 1991, he has led R&D, quality, and regulatory teams at Harvard Medical School, Matritech, Chembio Diagnostics, Diagnostics For All, First Light Diagnostics, BOA Biomedicals, and Mellitus, bringing breakthrough biochemical and immunological assays—spanning automated analyzers, ELISA, lateral-flow, and microfluidic platforms—from concept to market. Away from the lab, Shali is a devoted New England sports fan who loves traveling and spending time with his family.
