Sweating Rate and Sweat Chloride Concentration of Elite Male Basketball Players Measured With a Wearable Microfluidic Device Versus the Standard Absorbent Patch Method

Basketball is a popular team sport characterized by intermittent bouts of high-intensity activity repeated over the duration of a ∼1–2 hr practice or game. Sweat losses vary considerably among basketball players, depending upon body size, exercise intensity, and amount of playing time, among other factors. Although most basketball practices and games are played in indoor temperate environments, sweating rates can be quite high, ranging up to ∼2.5 L/hr.
